So this a good deal or?

Whats peoples thoughts about it?

Cant find another post on it, but im sure there probably is ^^

Goblin

Well, the "unlimited" package for a tenner seems a good deal. It all depends on how good they actually are when it comes to delivering the goods. Unlimited is subject to fair usage policy, but since the mid-range has a limit of 40gig I think, its unlikely youll fall foul of it unless all you do is warez stuff.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

This will be vanishing into Internet and Networking when someone can be b othered to move it ;)

Cypher

Base, Free, Ã,£40 Connection, up to 2Mb, 2G Cap
Mid, Ã,£5 Per Month, Ã,£20 Connection, up to 8Mb, 40Gb Cap
Max, Ã,£10, Free Connection, Up to 16Mb, No Cap

TBH, if the quality of service is there, then the prices are absolute top notch.  Id be tempted to leave pipex for which Ã,£17 is for a 512K connection, I might as well go for the meax connection.

addictweb

Dont you have to be a sky customer for these prices to apply?

The max line will be a steal if they can provide a decent service.

Sweenster

Bit dubious about that upto 16Mb, if this is adsl max you would have to be having your dinner in the local exchange to get that kinda speed.

Plus i imagine the connection will be traffic shaped even if there is no cap.

This is just another ploy like orange anc talktalk. They are just fooling those with less knowledge about such things.

most of the people i know cant get the full 8Mb adslmax, so where this figure of 16Mb comes from i dont know

matt5cott

Im just hoping it at least drives other companies like NTL to be more competetive

ADSL 2+ @ Sweenster :)

Different to ADSL max :) its what Be use for their 24mbit connections.

adsl 2 - Many areas have the option allready even if currently your on an 8mb you could have 16mb if your near the exchange.

Mark

Aye, 2+ been about for a good while - Theyve had it down in Southern Ireland from last year or so - maybe even before that.

Wireless is also big down there.

Porch Monkey

I get 20Mb out of my 22Mb ADSL 2+ line and Im about 800m from the exchange copper distance (according to my old BT survey) Its the shizzel. But then Im a bandwidth hoor.

Got the leaflet through my door yesterday and might go for it if the 16Mb gives me 13~14 ish. Ill have to investigate further.

Serious

Most ADSL2+ should do up to 24Mbits/sec because thats the standard, many wont get anywhere near that though.

Eagle

Sky sucks balls - they cant even deliver a satellite signal here, let alone a reliable broadband connection.

I wouldnt even sign up for Ã,£1 a year...
