i doubt the vectra vxr will be anywhere near as bad as they show it tbh, the astra changed from the time top gear filmed to release to the public and it was greatly improved, i suspect the vectra will be to, starting with some decent tires

fraid not - youre getting confused with geordies

see people in the midlands have things called jobs - we get paid some money for these jobs - but not as much as we should be getting due to a thing called national insurance - basically it is an extra tax to pay for dole money for a miserable part of this fine nation know as "the north"

edit - I should say also that I exclude gods own country - the fine county of yorkshire - from the rest of "the north" - tis the scummers in liverpool, newcastle etc.. that give the north a bad name

Damn right, I work my ass off here in Nottingham, selling drugs, women, and of course our speciality, guns.

DeltaZero

It was quite suprising to hear a Vectra VXR (flat out) can beat a BMW M5!

knighty

M5 is limited to 155 ;)

Cypher

Because of the agreement between the German manufacturers.

redneck

its gets flouted when you get it derestricted

read somewhere that it isnt just down to road safety/concerns about other road users etc... - but also costs

if they allowed the cars to do 180, 200 etc.. then theyd need even bigger breaks etc.. & costs would shoot up with no real benifit as the majority of buyers wont evne take the cars up to the 155 limit anyway.

Mark

Its for safety reasons - tyres and drivers alike.

Tyres that can handle a heavy car at 200+ are very thin on the ground.

snellgrove

5 minutes or so, to this weeks ep...  :D

AAARRGHH missing it as we speak. Grrr.. Shall have to watch online.

snellgrove

hehe, was a good episode :D

I then flicked over to FilmFour which has just been made available on freeview and watched Lost In Translation.

all in all, a good nights telly!

Binary Shadow

couldnt stand lost in translation, was a good TG tho, might build myself one of them just for fun.. then flog it cos its not my kinda car lol

Cypher

I found the TG especially amusing this week since I happend to have visitied a local caterham garage a week or two ago.  I wasnt looking btw lol, a friend was interested.

In, short TG were complete amateurs tbh and cheats tbh.  The caterham they started with was allready half built, it does not come like that.  That is how one looks like after about 8 hours work of one of their technicians.

What you get when recieve the kit is the main body frame, with the dashboard, electrics and fuel tank installed.  Thats it.

Impressively though, the job requires absolutely no welding, machining, drilling etc of any kind.  You just need your socket set, time & patience.  A small bit of know how also helps.

how can you lot in the midlands manage to get jobs with that halfwit accent...

"we want ta be togevva"... i used to work with a girl from Wolverhampton,  it was like talking to a bucket of vomit, completely devoid of any emotion or semblance of intellect...

PuNk

The bit through Liverpool was naff, I could of done that journey in five minutes. And I probably could of hit one of them stupid running people whilst I was at it.
