Sam

I would hate this as I dont think films that are so bad become good, plus I cannot stand Samuel El Big Head.

Goblin

Thats the thing though, everyone was expecting "so bad its good" but its actually "so good its good, despite the fact it *should* be bad".

I think a good yardstick (but feel free to disagree) is to compare it with Tremors. It should be awful, but is actually good without resorting to laughing at how bad it is.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

FWIW Tremors is one of my favourite films for that reason, loved it when I was younger and I still watch it quite often now. Good choice of yardstick, but I think this falls under a slightly different category. Its definitely a nod to the way quality action/suspense/disaster films used to be.

I like SLJ even more for sticking to his guns and doing a film he is 100% passionate about, even getting them to change the title back after a renaming. I think his dedication to it comes through in just how good the film actually is.

Danny UK

Ive just got back from the States.  On the news out there they were saying that someone had let some snakes go inside one of the cinemas as a joke.  Only problem being they were rattle snakes.

Coded

^^ True. They were talking about it on the radio yesterday. stupid pranksters.

Saw the film the other night. Loved it. Best film ive seen this summer.

Thatd fking scare me sh*tless, considering I thought that I had stuff going up my legs anyway during the film!.

Also if its rattlesnakes its not a prank, its pretty much conspiracy for mass murder.

Chuck Norris

i have to say I was expecting some terrible B movie, but I was really shocked at how good it was.  Well worth the hype.

Sam

Im gonna have to go arent I, just so I can come back on here and slag it off.

jamieL

Still havent seen it.. None of my friends want to go and see it though! I dont want to go on my own..

I heard that SLJ took the script from an amatuer writer purely on the name!

M3ta7h3ad

The script was based on one entered into a "after show" competition on a production, basically "whats the worst storyline you can come up with for a movie". Its based on some guy who works for dreamworks I believe, and the script was originially called "Venom".

They took it.. named it snakes on a plane for extra B movieness, and pitched it. SLJ took it on its title apparantly.

Rivkid

3 years later and old Rivkid catches up with the known world and finally watches this...

GENIUS!! Loved it from start to finish. Thought Big Sam was ace and it had a nice balance of action, peril, snakes and tits.

Need more like this please Hollywood!
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!
