I am not a golf fan but the Ryder cup EU kicked their ass

From reading the paper and watching the news about this EU clearly had the best team moral and team bonding, US just looked like good golfers put together who did not really know each other well enough and did not respect each other well enough which EU had in spades and TBH that and playing well are the most important things of any sport, You play well once you have that team spirit in place
