(my bm is dead... going to sell it for spares)

my uncle used to have the 4liter V8 and I really liked it...

thinking about getting one... but itll drink the fuel... so thinking about the 3liter V6 instead...

anyone know if its got much oomph ?

Serious

The diesel versions may be a lot more economical and have more torque.

How did the BMW die then? I really think you should be a lexus man Alan :p

Serious

knighty sang Im too sexy for my car and it had a failure.

Mechanic thought it was suicide cause it couldnt face the truth.

A lexus would die with just him looking at it

I was going down the motorway when the oil cooler rubbed on the fan belt pully and sprang a leak, pissing my oid out all over the road and killing the engine :(

I managed to free wheel 5 or 6 miles tho, most of it up hill... overtaking a half a dozen people before i crossed into the hard sholder... made it to the next junction so was easier to phone for a tow :)

mmm, the uncle that had the jag traded it in for a lexus... but I just dont like the look of them, a bit too look at me... lol

I want something nice and comfy, with a bit of oomph :)

Mark

yes, an uncle of mine has one - theyre OK, but I dont like the interior - it looks cheap - but still an upgrade from the 3 series interior.

Performance isnt going to set the world alight though, but it will feel punchier than the diesel BMW. It also sounds better!

"""

which interior was that ?

my uncles was pretty nice, but his had a tft in the dash and all sorts... looking around theres not many of them about (cheap)

dont was to spend much... I quite like replying "whatever" to  "alan your car just exploded"

if i buy something more expensive, Ill have to look after it, wash it etc...

Ive driven the 4L, but not the 3L.  Nice cars, but they are a bit "Old Fart".

you really do talk some crap.

noob

used to have a 3l v6 Stype. in lovely emerald green.

Went well on the motorway but no where near as good on the bends s the BMW it replaced. Just too heavy. cost 32k brand new. sold for 7.5k :( with 50k on it

fuel was about 25mpg 15 if you drove it quick and a max of 34 on a long motorway cruise.

Very nice car and is a much nicer place to be than the BM. The deep shagpile wool carpets were lush :)

engine was a belter. tyers were pricy (had the nice wheels 120 quid a corner) only issue was there is a viscous coupling in the driveshaft that was noisy on this one. replaced under warenty. Good car would consider A4-A6 as an alternative

oooh while im here anyone want a TF?

Edd

seems the rover 75 can do everything a BMW/Merc/Jag can do but is like a tenth of the price
maybe i should get one of them!

knighty

Id die before I bought a rover 75... every time I saw it, Id look at it thinking it looks a bit like the s-class... but its not an s-class :(

leaning more and more twardsa an old aston martin V8 :o

I dont do that many miles anyway.... :D
