Reminds me of a sketch from Dave Allen where two baddies arrange for their girl to distract a driver so he stops and they can rob him and nick his car. They then hide behind a bush in wait.

Except the driver is so distracted that he goes off road and runs straight over the bush and keeps going...

I wonder if 80 yearolds would be even more effective?

Yeah anything that slows the traffic down quite fast would be annoying and cause more accidents. Think about speed cameras, you see one but you have forgotten the speed limit and just keep on trucking... and then you think "oh sh*t is it 30?" and slam the brakes on. Dangerous.
