Have to say, bought a 1GB one for my wife about 7 months ago ... its really good ... but literally eats batteries like nothing I have ever seen.  Like literally they are flat after about an hour.  May well be this one is slightly faulty ... but have heard that other people have had this same problem.  Sony do a really nice little mp3 player which is quite cheap and also Apple have a little clip on one which I have heard good things about.

Sony are ok as long as you dont mind the interfacing.

One of my favourite toys is a 4gb Creative mp3 player that I bought a couple of years ago. Its just a shame about the software they provide it is terrible, not bothered to look for an alternative as I just use Explorer.

Funny you should say that actually; I used to have an iPop until, although sound quality and device just kept on dying on me ... had to send it off twice and it still never worked properly.

Since then have hated them, although my wife really wanted one of the little metal nanos which I landed up buying her for chrimbo.  Actually gorgeous little machine ... although the headphone connector is a bit pants ... if you push on it a little the sound cuts out; alright the answer is dont push on it, but eventual wear and tear will surely cause problems ... to be continued ...

Scumvision [as we used to call them in the trade] are alright, one of the best amogst the budget brands. At the end of the day, you pay for what you get with kit like this. Sure it will be reliable for what it does, but dont expect amazing performance.
