On Sunday I went to Crail Race Way

I wasnt going to run my car on the Drift circuit as I thought that was pretty pointless, but I did run it on the Quarter Mile track.

I did 3 Quarter mile runs and then I thought Id call it quits.

I raced a 1.6 Fiesta Zetec S, which he won that race by about 4 - 5 car lengths.

I then raced a C2 VTS and won that race, although he got a poor start, although if he had a good start it would have been a very even race I think.

I finally raced a 2.0L 16V Almera GTi and won that race, which quite surprised me. Although I did hear him miss a gear.

My times, in the races above, in that order were:
Run 1 (Fiesta) 78.8mph @ 17.416 sec
Run 2 (C2 VTS) 78.3mph @ 17.569 sec
Run 3 (Almera GTi) 79.6mph @ 17.217 sec

Im quite proud, but I have the bug to really get a track day car now

The day was filled with lots of ups and downs.

We went from Silverlink, on the A19 and travelled at a slowish speed up to Scotland, about 50mph. (cars with big turbos were in our convoy and they would have DRANK the fuel even more)

So we get up there about 10am, lots of cars there already, I spot a few rallyes through-out the day.

When we get there I was just going to watch, but I thought "hmm I really want to have a go on the 1/4 mile strip" so I pay my Ã,£15 and sign the waiver and then Im ready. (It cost another Ã,£7 to enter the actual race ground)

So I get my car and then go and do my runs.

One of the people I convoyed up with was on the drift circuit in his 2.0L Sierra and he rolled his car after hitting the tyres. As far as I know theyre both ok, just a little shaken and the car was left in crail.

There were 2 Lambos there, they were gorgeous and there was the usual saxos, corsas, some real nice cars. Saw an M3 or 2 and a 911 GT3.

In all I have done about 600 miles driving in the last weekend and Im still knackered but I had a mint time!

Sounds good mate! I want to go to some events like this. Will probably go to york raceway in the summer.

What car do you drive? Im suprised the C2 didnt beat you if the Zetec S did.....dont mean that nasty or out mate    Just id have said the C2 was faster than the Zetec S.

I drive a 106 Rallye. It has a 1.3L 8V engine and weighs under 900Kgs

I think the C2 has 115 BHP and the Zetec S has 125bhp but not to sure about the weights.

the Zetec S only has a weezing 1.6 with 98bhp, does 0-60 in 9.8s.
the VTS has 125bhp and does 0-60 in 8.0s
the GTi has 140bhp and does 0-60 in 7.9.

The Zetec S must have had some mods then... apart from the K&N panel filter he said. The GTi did miss a gear at one point, that might have thrown it.

Nice time mate Should of got in contact and would of purposly got the 205 back on the road for it

tbh, I wasnt even thinking of going then I decided but I had A LOT of bad stuff happen to me last week at work and in life and I didnt even tell one of my best mates I actually work with I needed a day away from it all.

I will let you know next time though
