360 software update to quieten drives?

Meh every game i play is louder than the drive... If i used it for DVD player i would be annoyed but for games? Meh... I dont even notice

i dont have the luxury of turning up the volume to drown out the dvd drive.  :cry:

It will be slowing drive down thus causing things to load slower.  Allow MS to use slower/cheaper drives :)

Also possibly MS first attempt at blocking hacked drives?

As far as im aware, theres no way to implement a flash in the current system.  also, imagine end users turning the console off half way through an update and the fact that there are that many different versions of the drives.

Coupled with the fact that MS have just started to use these quiet Benq drives why would they release a firmware?
