They will be starring in a new drama over here called "The Riches". Nothing against them per se, but they will both be sporting American southern accents. Brits doing southern makes Dick Van Dykes cockney almost bearable.

In other news: Minnie just had her face re-sharpened. :D

Agree with you, both the above mentioned cant do American accents well.  But DVD has the best cockney accent Ive ever heard ;)

Quote from: SeriousAmericans cant do American accents either :D

I partially believe you ;)

Southern accents are notoriously hard to pick up. Even a North Carolinian trying to do West Texan would sound awkward.

TauSeti

What about Cajun?  That would be hard for any actor to do!

President Jimmy Carter once tried to do a Geordie accent, it was pitiful. He then claimed he had the locals eating out of his hand and he could win an election here any time. The locals wanted to lynch him

TBH Geordie isnt one single dialect, nor does it belong exclusively to Newcastle. Every little village has its own version with slightly different pronunciation of words, they can also mean different things according to which village you are in. Trying to write it down is an epic exercise as it was never meant to be done and there is no standardised spelling either.
