after 2 years ive quit wow, ended my subscriptions etc, have guild wars installed on my pc but really dont know if i want to continue putting time into that, would anyone have some beta serial for something for me, ive signed for lotro and tabula rasa and exteel and some other game just a waiting game now i suppose, but tbh im bored to tears w/o wow.

This week i went against all reviews and purchased Archlord = lol!

An 8 hour download/install, i dont understand how there system works but it sucks balls, get in game and omg, this is pants, bug after bug after bug etc, i cant believe people actually play it, after 2 hours id binned it.

So anyone got a beta key, or can recommend something to fill the now big gap in my life, (please dont recommend sunlight or rl)

ps. preference to online games, love online community, guilds and talking with friendly people over ts/vent

Vanguard : Saga Of Heroes is one of the best MMOs Ive played. Im not sure if itll be your cup of tea coming from WoW but you could certainly give it a try.

Considered vanguard but ive read more bad feedback than good and dont want to go through another archlord phase of binning another 15 quid or more

Downed first boss is Karazan first attempt, just sorting tactics for second one now . . . Oh got my lvl 70 PvP boots tonight too.  

Aside from WoW, isnt Warhammer Online coming out soon? Maybe check that out. Or wait for a few years for Star Trek Online like I am.

It was a SOE game that just reminded me of the last SOE game... EQ2... they seemed so similar I actually starting wondering if Sony had a split personality and didnt notice that it was compeating with itself?

SOE just publish Vanguard, they have no say in the development process fortunately, otherwise I wouldnt touch it.

Vanguard was developed by Sigil, set up by a lot of the bods who developed the original Everquest. They originally left SOE for greener pastures, meanwhile SOE developed EQII in house with none of the original team. Vanguard was initially supposed to be published by Microsoft but that deal was scuppered as they wanted the game dumbing down so it would work on the 360 as well (or so I understand, Im really not sure exactly why it fell through); and in a perfect twist of fate SOE ended up publishing Vanguard for Sigil.

I hope that clears something up a bit. In reality EQII and VG are very different games (apart from the obvious common theme of a Sword and Sorcery MMO). Its aimed at the niche market at the opposite end of the scale to World of Warcraft really, but I still think people should give it a try. If you liked the original Everquest then youll probably find something in here you enjoy, if not then you might discover a love for the more hardcore MMOs and be able to break away from the leet kiddies in World of Warcraft.  

Seriously though, its a cracking game with no instances or zoning, just one seamless world to explore.

Played it, amazing looking and the environmental and character options and game structure is in depth and expansive.
The real problem which is the main core of the game is the combat, which is utter crap, I can honestly say it is the most boring and un interactive combat I have played in any game for a while, you could wonder off for a piss While in combat on an MMO which is just wrong.
It will get improvements but the core of it is wrong and so it will be very hard to become anything that I personally would play and other people who have got the chance that I have spoken to have similar views.

IT does looks amazing though.

Been playing the LOTR:O beta the last couple of days and its surprisingly entertaining (I hate to admit) Still dont understand how they are going to implement any PVP tho as there is only one playable side, the good guys

Who still plays Eve Online?  I thought a few of you guys used to play it.

PvP is in there but to do it you have to use the monster controller in Bree-town to enter monster play and be at least lvl 10. You get destiny points by doing PvP that allows you to either upgrade your monster or you can use them to buy buffs for your main character.

Well im back farming on guild wars, and trying out city of heroes again, now there is more info on the net about it than last time i checked it out, i think it could be a little fun til something else comes out

Nah not this time, i even went as far as deleting all my characters except my troll mage, so no temptation to switch back to alliance and move to friends servers, oh and we downed 4 bosses in karazhan, before i quit

lol I used to. Left it a while and am now stuck out in deep 0.0 in a bloody badger. lol

Signed up for a month a while back but just never really got back into it. Ive fallen so far behind my mates on skills that I am still stuck flying T1 ships. I have no isks and so if I rejoined Id have a month of mining and boredom. lol
