So, as most of you are probably aware Xbox Live! is down for maintenance (14hours and counting)...

So I thought that tonight would be the perfect for some single player time. Theres a couple of games I keep meaning to finish and also, things like Poker, where the single player isnt all that much fun but it is a learning tool.

So first up I try Tiger Woods 07. Seems ok, I am 10 holes into a round when the game spits me back to the menu telling me that "the active profile has been signed out."....erm, excuse me ?! So then I try to sign back in and have to wait 3-5mins for the sign in process to timeout, only for TW07 to bitch at me.

At this point I ditched it and decided to play some single player poker. but OH NO...apparently not. As Xbox Live! is down I cannot run the full version of a game that I have paid for, downloaded and activated previously !! Surely this amounts to theft !??!! It has certainly pished me off :(

You think that after 3+ years of running the Live! service, MS wouldve thought about the impact on the user of the service not being avaliable. Apparently though, its just another example of get the $$$ and forget the user service :(

Hehe, similar situation to when the WoW servers go down for extended maintenance, millions of people aimlessly surfing the net.

To be fair, WoW is massively multiplayer, you cant expect it to work when the server is down.

single player games which are on your own hard drive are something a little different IMO, I can totally sympathise.
