Did an update yesterday and there it was on the panel needing no configuration and offering me a dozen networks with a simple drop down menu. Slick. Already had it installed on the Edgy lappie--but with Feisty, its automagick.

Automagick is all well and good, but only if you know how to do it manually.  Otherwise it is just brain rot.

Max:  how much of what you do in ubuntu can you still do without all the gui help a newbie config tools?
