more details are necessary. OS, which browsers, when/how do they crash?

ALL browsers, FF IE that crasy one bear said about.
xp sp1,
crashes in 2 ways stops responding and cannot restart FF etc without going into taskmannager and shutting off the prosses.
or just plainly comes up with FF etc hae encountered a problem and needs to close.

Well having only SP1 isnt doing you any favours. your missing security patches etc and may have been compromised.

doubtfull, I only have sp1 because sp2 causes more problems than its worth.

SP2 does not cause any problems, ive seen hundreds of machines using it with out a problem.

What are the problems you are talking about??

Id run Spybot and Avast! or similar first thing, as it aint gonna hurt. Then most definitely get sp2 installed.

You can create another user account and see if it has the same browser issues. Might be something in your profile, or may be universal.

no, it was doing it befor i installed it.

It seems to be bad RAM.
Bear sujested I run Memtest, so i did and there were 16 errors after scanning 3%.

stupid stuff.

Why do people still go on about sp2. The first version, beta and then live were a bit crap, but MS soon fixed that, adn tbh i think once you turn off the anoying security center, which is easy its fine.
