Right.....

Tried upgrading my breezy to dapper and it borked.
Reinstalled breezy (fresh) and it borked after upgrade again.

So i thought f*** it and downloaded flight 6 only to get the same thing again after reboot. Will not get to the GUI stage. It switches the screen as if it was about to goto x but then nothing. I cant even run without the GUI.

Anyone had similar or knows WTF is happeneing here. Looks like im gonna have  to jump Distros to keep upto date :(

skidzilla

I might be able to give a diagnosis based on the contents of your xorg.conf file, found in /etc/X11/ (attach it to your post.) :)

Anyhow flight 6 is preview software, so why not just stick with Breezy until the final version of Dapper comes out? Your problem may be fixed by then. :)

Or you could try Kororaa, it rocks!

I cant get far enough to view it myself :(

Kororaa only a live CD based version?

skidzilla

LiveCD, also installable while its running.

Have you posted at ubuntuforums.org yet? I have a feeling the final will do the same thing if its doing it now.

Its been stable for two months now, and theyre just polishing as its going to be supported for a number of years.
