The connector is created by VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) so will no doubt be appearing on graphics cards and monitors from many companies.

Yes indeed.  The standard was approved last month.

Nexus youre talking as if the thing is going to walk over everything.  HDMI has barely settled into peoples living rooms and is heavily intergrated into current multimedia.

But I can certainly see it taking over as a PC monitor connection.

HDMI will do yes a number of the dx10 cards and hd cards will/have one hdmi and one dvi, but this has been a keen interest in a number of lcd for computer companies and graphics card as they do not want a true hdmi only system, I cant remember what the article I read now said, but it was something about what it can do, daisy chaining for duel screening (as in 1 port on the card can do 3 monitors) etc rather then just a pure media oriented connection.

As I said I reckon one of these ports and one hdmi will probably be the norm.

Youre going to start seeing more LCDs with either glass fronts or gloss finishes - it helps with contrast apparently. Hopefully theyll release either/or versions for those with rooms where its difficult to control ambient light, but if you do have control over it, I have to admit the new gloss screens do look pretty good when up and running.

So it looks like a cheap Argos coffee table?
