How much do you have to spend before you start saving money?

If Im after a Ã,£3-4k car is it worth it by the time you add on transportation and SVA 9etc) costs?

Their site dont make sense though, you pay the money for the car and then theyve got charges of Ã,£500 here, Ã,£200 there...

You could always get one thats already been imported and is up for normal private sale.

TBH importing cars yourself is a pain in the ass unless you really know what youre doing.

Plenty of people import cars for themselves, it isnt that difficult. The thing to watch out for is second hand ones, often they have been nicked and then imported, if they are identified as such you are screwed.

Its a pain in the ass, read what you like, if youre a noob and dont know what youre doing id be very wary.

My mate speaks japanese, his missus is japanese, and his import was far from smooth.

tbh on that budget its going to be difficult as when you factor in shipping, duty and suchlike you will be left with a few pence to buy a snotter best bets to keep your eyes peeled for a JDM import on sale in the UK, there are plenty on the market.

No they dont so its best to mention them isnt it? rather than just posting a two line post on one hand saying its not hard to import a car, then on the other saying but watch out for the knicked ones!



Anyway sdp, if youre really set on getting something imported, speaking from experience, just make sure you do your research, and remember that the whole process takes months and months.

Like I said above, with your budget id start looking round the classifieds in the UK, it shouldnt be hard to find a nice example (of an FTO assuming thats what you still want) with your budget.

Christ thats a laugh and a half.

There are thousands of good quality imports down south (Southern Ireland) because we seem to get them all - all its going to cost you to go look at a few is a cheap flight, and if you decide you like it, Ã,£120 on the ferry back to england.

There are a lot more rare jap cars over here than there are over there because of the whole import situation down south.
