Total Install time: 30 Mins, plus 10 Mins to acquire latest nvidia drivers through synaptic (apt-rpm), and then activate Beryl through the control panel, didnt have to touch the command line at all!
Theres also Tremulous and Alien Arena, as well as Wine available in the software repos, should you wish to get gaming (I believe wine also runs Oblivion now too).

The question is, will it kill my XP installation, or will it automatically give me a nice selection menu?

Posting from a Live CD, looks nice, configured my hardware automatically which is a big plus. Its looking good too.
