Quote from: DEViANCEplayed it on the xb360 the other day, only the 2 demo missions, the graphics are amazing, alot better than my pc can run it.

unfortunatly tho, the controls are so awkward and slow to use then I dont think ill be getting it :(

Once you get into using the controls they are very good indeed, im gobsmacked at how well this plays, I really really am

god damn... stuck on the croatia mission where you have to defend a base and then rescue the MCV.

I can defend the base fine until the MCV arrives, but I cant clear the way for the mcv, and all of a sudden, I get bombarded with suicide bombers and flamers and my entire base falls. Despite the 15 veteren rocket APCs and the 10 veteran tanks I have.

the key to that level is to use a mix of troops in bunkers alongside Infantry in APCs. They stop the infantry totally.  Put them on the ends of the bridges.
Once you have secured that you need ot destroy the bas ein the top right corner.  Then beefup your AA defence, then go after the MCV.

I (eventually) did it slightly differently.

1st put about 3-4 dug in infantry of the bottom and left entrances to your base. This will stop all infantry attacks for a long time. Activate all the anti-tank defenses at the other 2 entrances, plus add a couple of predator tanks to each. put 2-3 rocket squads next to each aa gun so you dont need to turn them on. eventually (about the time the mcv arrives), build 5 apc and put rocket dudes in each, and use them to help kill infantry. eventually theyll be fully upgraded and will own any infantry. put them on the far side of the bridges.

If you find youre short on cash, south of the base just below where the bridges are there are 3 money crates. Theres also one north of your base.

Waste loads of tanks, but eventually rescue mcv (those upgraded apcs come in very handy). Now you can build stuff :)

Getting the rail gun upgrade makes the rest of the level very easy, but after you mcv arrives make sure to build more aa guns, as nod gets some annoying stealth bombers.

The south-east base (aircraft) is most annoying to attack, due to all units needing air transport to get to it, so I left that one till last.

just did pretty much that. Walked in and owned the top right base. Took all the vet tanks I had and just stormed the place, blew everything up except the construction yard, and from then on I had it made.

Took the lower left base. Cleared the way for the MCV... then my computer crashed as I was just about to finish owning the damn south east base.

Had to rebuild my base almost completely three times :(

But got rid of Nod and then attacked north from where the aliens super weapon was using heavy AA and machine gun emplacements to back up a load of heavy tanks and a dozen troop carriers with rocket launcher men in.

A couple of dozen AA emplacements certainly kept the scrin airforce in check.

TBH there are a couple of other nasty missions too, going for the Nod temple at Sarajevo being one.

Just completed it with GDI. I used the bomb, as I got cained twice!

Did anyone think it was a poo ending?

Any tips on playing this multiplayer?

Seems playing network games with my 3 other housemates is gay. They all use the same tactic of sending an outpost to just outside of my damn base, and then building sh*tLOADS of defensive emplacements there.

White Giant

If they do that, then just stick a couple of gunners outside your base

M3ta7h3ad

Would do but they get an outpost and associated weapons up faster than I can get a power plant, refinery, barracks and some gunners out and destroy their outpost.

Spesh as outposts can be built first, and defence towers require minimal pre building.

Once one tower is up, theyve built a crane/foundry, and theyre pumping out defence towers two a time as im trying to fight them using rocket troopers or riflemen. Then they task some anti-vehicle guns to shoot the base structures that are within their range (having crept forward)... and I end up with a base consisting of a powerplant and a refinery. (typically built at the back of a base)

I do miss the features that are not in this game that were in the red alert series... Specifically, Medics and Engineers in APCs repairing vehicles.

White Giant

You can get a minigunner (or whatever theyre called now) outside your base before they can get an outpost truck. If not, maybe this aint a game for you.  ;)

M3ta7h3ad

lol you can get an outpost truck before you build anything. Its the first thing they build.

Infantry requires power station + barracks + trained gunner + move the gunners to whereever theyve deployed the outpost.

It was a poo ending but I didnt use the bomb. bloody difficult though.

The APCs were only really useful to protect engineers and keep snipers safe. A few snipers in them will own anyone using an infantry heavy force :D

knighty

metalhead, just hold your base untill your doing ok... then go steal the top right base (or the important bits anyway)

then build power supplies, defences, planes etc... and rape them :)

went about it laterally....

there are 3 bases on the map, and the bases send progressivly stronger teams to attack you till they overwhelm the defences.
easiest one to own is the south west infantry one, even before the mcv arrived i went down and cleared it out, saving the enemy mcv and a few other buildings for engineers...

with a new nod MCV in my possession and two tiberium fields to exploit made the north east vehicle base easy pickings and had plenty of momentum for the south east air base :D
