Over the years monitors have increased in size, then TFT/LCD etc ones came into play and decreased in price greatly and now a average joe has something like 17 or 19" at home flat panel screen.

Do you think many people would actually go for bigger than anything like 24" for their home computer?

Beaker

the average person wouldnt no, ive found most folks are more than happy with a 17" due to the obvious desk size issue.  Most geeks buy 19" or above widesreens, and they pay the premium for them.

*is awaiting a decent price on a 22" WS*

Im still on a 17" CRT.
Just started thinking about buying a 19" widescreen lcd

Had the chance of 2 21" crts for free earlier in the week, I had no car to take em home in :(

17" is way too small now, 19" is ok but imo 22" is perfect, anything over 24" is silly.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

I think 15" being some laptops and 17" for the desk being the low sizes with 17-20" being the norm due to the lcd world we now live in.

madmax

tempted to get a big 42" 1080p LCD to replace my computer screen,
lack of funds and ever progressing tech is the only put offs, but itd free up *tons* of space on my desk.

21" crt + 17" crt atm

my setup is probably unusual mind, few feet away from desk and its in my bedroom so would take over telly duties + hook up xbox 360.

Eggtastico

Ive not used under a 22" for about 5years.

I dunno If I could go much bigger.. maybe 26", but 32" would be to big to use sitting so close.

FWIW, my Xbox is hooked up through my Projector & onto a 77" screen

Next lcd I will get will be what ever the top samsung is at the time although I must say the LG quality is getting increasingly impresive
