Quote from: SwissToniReign Over Me anyone?

Ive not seen it being mentioned much, definitly worth a watch with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle.

Thats not out legally yet.

Sandler should stick to more proper acting.. which leads me onto my next recommendation....

Punch-Drunk Love
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0272338/

Barry Egan (Sandler) owns a company that markets themed toilet plungers ("fungers") and other novelty items. He has seven overbearing sisters who ridicule him regularly, and leads a very lonely life punctuated by fits of rage. In the span of one morning, he witnesses a bizarre car accident, picks up an abandoned harmonium from the street, and encounters Lena Leonard (Watson), who he later learns orchestrated the meeting after seeing him in a family picture belonging to his sister Elizabeth (Mary Lynn Rajskub), a co-worker of Lenas.

we really should set up a private film network or something.  Flash videos and tubes perhaps.

Obviously this would only be for sharing content we own and not sharing films ;)

Goblin

Pi, Dark City and Cube as others have mentioned. A few just flicking through my DVD collection:

Society is great if a little weird.
37°2 le matin (Betty Blue )
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - Terry Gilliam wonderment
American Psycho - One of Christian Bales best
Clue - Comedy film based on Cluedo
Contact - Jodie Foster discovers aliens
Ed Wood - Tim Burtons look at the life of the worst director of all time (made Plan 9 From Outer Space)
Falling Down - Michael Douglas goes psycho
The Frighteners - Peter Jacksons last film before he hit the big time
The Hunger - David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve in the classiest vampire film ever made
Lost in Translation - Well known thanks to the academy award, but hardly anyone seems to have seen it
Metropolis - Fritz Langs 1927 masterpiece look to the future
Peters Friends - Every eighties luvvy (Stephen Fry, Ken Brannagh, Emma Thompson etc) in a beautifully poignent film
The Princess Bride - Comedy fantasy and one of the best films ever made
Twelve Monkeys - a more serious Gilliam film with time travel and general weirdness
Withnail and I - Richard E Grant as a self destructive, alcoholic actor
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Also worth a look is L.A. Takedown (1989) which is a TV movie written and directed by Michael Mann. He remade it in 1995 as Heat

Serious

Quote from: SteveFConstantine (2005)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360486/
Constantine is an exorcist who has been to Hell and back, and whose soul is sentenced to hell. He has been deporting demons to get on good terms with God, yet God wants self-sacrifice. After the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, detective Angela Dodson goes out in search of the truth. Together, Constantine and Angela battle the demons on Earth.

Privateer

White Giant

Quote from: dogbertGoogle these films, they are all good & obscure.

"Equilibrum"
Post civilization-fall police state controlled by special officers who are highly trained martial arts weapons skills.

One of my favourite films that, seemed like it should have been longer though. I liked it for the religious themes more than anything.

*Edit - The missus says Quills is a good film, very dark etc etc.

Oh dear my poor net connection will be suffering for weeks because of this thread.  ;)
