The x2 5000 may have been a better buy but I was too lazy to research motherboards when I know the Asrock is pretty good. The E2xxx cpu is pretty much neck & neck and is way cheaper, but I didnt find that out til after I ordered. I was gonna go higher spec but Id rather spend money on more interesting things.

I wanna keep my 6600gt, sure it stinks in most games but I aint buying a new one til the next lot of dx10s come out.

2x 1gb Kingston RAM PC5300, whatever.

If it blows Im £15 down - just buy another without worring about rmas. I got a spare one anyway..


2x 320gb Hitachi HDDs
I aint never buying hard drives in singles again. The chances of 2 dying at the same time are pretty slim. Gonna have em in normal none-raid mode and get an app to sort out file copying.

Do you have Vista then? Miscreant$oft say that DX10 parts are Vista only. Which buggers us XP users up nicely.

Buy a decent PSU and you dont need to even think about it blowing up.  :-)

Ive been using Robocopy.exe this week, its part of the Windows Resource Kit and its effing marvellous. Ive sacked off the crappy Memeo software that came with my Seagate FreeAgent Pro and been using this to directory mirror.

Could use Synctoy too I guess.

hmm its really fast in everything expect aoe3 which runs like a bitch even in 1280x1024. Gonna try some older drivers for the card.
