What does disk manager look like?

Have you tried EasyRecovery, it should pick stuff up even if the partition info is knackered.

http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/file-recovery-software/

You need a 2nd drive to copy the stuff to though.

Bill your mate for the software and 500gb hdd youll need to complete this ;)

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

madmax

if that doesnt work i can recommend getdataback ntfs

http://www.runtime.org/gdb.htm

isnt free for full recovery but the trial at least shows you what it can find & recover.

Open up disk manager. Right click the 160gb partition and mount it in your system :)

Then your pretty much stuck. Most free ones if you can find them are trial versions and only recover a partial amount of files.

Get him to pay for it.

Madrocker

Its realy annoying because theres nothing wrong with the hdd.
The motherboard dided and i cant get windows to load on a different one (for obvious reasons but it was worth a try).

how about i just deleat the 5gig partition and force it to load the other one?
