A Merc A class?

Been looking at C Class mercs for a while but cant really get the one i want, the A classs are cheaper, what are they like to live with?

Cheers

Clock'd 0Ne

From what I was told by a bloke that works in a garage for a dealer the C classes are plagued with electronics faults and are always coming in for fixing, Im not sure if the same problems are there on the A class.

DEViANCE

NI from here used to have one i think, dont see him around any more tho, but he was very pleased with it.

Isnt it just a posh SMART?
if i was looking for a top marque small car I would be looking at an A2 they are very nice.

edit: parkers owners reveiws has lots of nasty electrical, suspension and trim problems.

Beaker

Not owned, but driven often.  Horrible thing, too short for the height, gearbox is optomised for comfort.  They wander on the motorway, they dont have enough power (Even the 1.6) for the weight, they are poorly specced out for the cost.

Basically, if you have your heart set on a Merc for town usage then youll love it.  If you want something as your main car, and youll be doing more than a very occasional motorway youll hate it.

got a pic? Ive had a few company mercs but TBH, i dont really look at model names or engine size. I drive it & it costs me nothing, so who cares what you drive when its free

the A-Class is the cat that did a roll when they did "The Elk Test".  I know the stability control keeps them uprigth now, but they still feel tippy.

I had a drive in the turbo petrol one - was supposed to be supercar fast all I experienced was bad chassis and no grip

I have no idea who "they" are or what "the elk test" is

Ahh, just googled an A Class.
I used to drive C classes

im looking at an Audi A6 tomorrow.. cheers for the input heh

Mark

good choice, as long as its 2.8V6 or upwards in petrol - or the 3.0TDi

The 2.7 Twin turbo V6 is dissapointing to say the least.

my sister has a 3.2 A6...

quite a nice car, loads of room...

a *tad* bigger than an A class merc...

Binary Shadow

"*tad*" eh.. well as long as its not much smaller than a range rover its win win
