To a model and photographer networking event last night. Ive been getting a bit bored of just doing landscapes and I want to shoot some other subject. So I was invited through a group on face book and I went over to Blaydon.
There was some very nice women there and the photographers were quite down to earth.
Anyone else shot models before?
No, but itd be interesting. I quite like doing eye stuff, but it is pretty difficult doing self-portraight macro shots etc, would be good to have a victim to temporarily blind.
PERVERT !!!!!!!!!
why didnt you invite me ?

I didnt know what itd be like tbh. I wanted to see firstly and then Id invite my friends.
Ill invite you to the next one. Do any of the other Newcastle lot want to let me know about the next ones coming up?
Out of interest, at the event what was it like? Did all the models basically go around saying theyre available for £xx per hour/shot? Or were there attention whores etc who basically like getting their photo taken for free etc?

Thats probably the single biggest geek quote of all time...... and I love it! :)
I did a few Shoots with models on a photography course I did a few years back, it just wasnt for me, models dont know what the camera sees, so need almost constant reinforcement, in that what they are doing is good and also need strong direction, and its not normally an ego thing, just genuine need for feed back.
It would not help that Im not a people person.
Any over Cardiff way?

No idea, Id contact local photgraphy studios. But if youre not in the business youd be found out soon enough!
Might be interested in this :) What was it like then? What was the etiquette?
is this full nude legs spread? :heehaw:
since nobody else has asked :w00t:
No Egg, sorry, but there was some scantaly clad women.
Ettiquette.. well I turned up there in my pink shirt with my cream coloured suit jacket and some black trousers and shoes.
I looked a bit like a Hugh Heffner wanabe.
Other photographers arrived in Jeans and t shirt or shirt and jeans.
It was quite informal and you have to be some one who is not scared of going up to random people and starting a conversation. The models certainly arnt and photographers are not bad at it either.
Id get some business cards made up for next time.
