Just recently got back from a holiday in Madeira and have finally got round to sorting out everything, took over 950 photos and narrowed my them down to 25. Put them all in a gallery rather than post them all here. All taken with a D50 with either a 50mm F1.8 or a Nikon 18-200 VR.

One more as well, a friend thought it would look good in black and white, so I obliged, does show a bit vignetting though.

Thoughts, criticisms etc?
You may want to post some of your favourite images directly into this thread. Had a look and you have some really nice pics.
Also, if you join Flickr and add me as a contact, I will be able to see when you upload new photos and can then add comments and vice-versa.
EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention earlier, but really like the reflection one, although prefer the colour one myself. ;)
Ive been holding off getting a flickr account for some reason, might see about signing up for one later on today and getting them uploaded. Might be my job for lunchtime at work :D
Got the reflection one on the last evening we were there, just wandering about the grounds and got it, quite pleased with it myself.
Love the cliffs one :)
As Mrt says put a couple directly into the thread for all the lazy people :)
Im sooooo lazy right about now ... just had two crusty rolls filled with .... topside beef, danish salami, fresh mozarella and fresh coleslaw ... topped off by a Frijj - Fudge Brownie Flavour ... actually feel a bit sick now!
Ill bung some on here tonight when I get in, managed eventually to get them all upload to flickr, so get commenting away.

These are not orchids!
http://rcram.bounceme.net/madeira2007/slides/Orchids%201%20(DSC_3015).html
Easy way to tell, orchids have a single stem in the middle and six petals, the lowest is often modified to become a platform for insects landing. They do not have separate stamens and style. I have seen these things, they used to grow in my garden a very long time ago, just cant remember their damn name. The second flower pic is a slipper orchid which is so obvious that it couldnt be anything else.
The rest are orchids though and overall the pics are nice.
I was expecting cake but that looks even better, some nice pics there matey.
Some nice snaps there, though the colours look a little flat & washy to me.
Thats probably just me though as Im a fan of Vibrant colours.
Pity the peacock wasnt being proud

Some do look a little flat, but then Ive not done any post processing on them bar the odd dust bunny removal, and the borders of course.
Aye if the peacock had been proud that would have made some good pictures but it wasnt playing ball, still quite happy with what Ive got off it though.
My criticism would be a distinct lack of nubile yound semi-clad yound ladys. :-/

Peacocks are picky animals, they keep you waiting for hours in the hope of them giving you a nice photograph then they turn their damn back to you just before fanning out their tail. Makes you want to shoot the ****ers dead
Im not worried about the flower pic, just making sure you knew and making a bit of a meal of it. I used to have a few in a greenhouse, then the heater failed and frost killed them all overnight. Never bothered to buy new ones.
