look cool. you get those streeky light effects by leaving the shutter open for quite a while do you? i like that effect.

Yep. Shutter needs to be open for quite a long time to actally photgraph the road at night anyway.
how do you keep the camera so still while the stutter is open?

For them i used a mini tripod on the roof of my car :D
If you save one of the pics and then open up its advanced properties in explorer you can see all the setting used to take the shot.
For photies of more than about 1/30th of a second a tripod is preferable although someone with a very steady hand might manage 1/4 sec.
Who stole the car in the 2nd pic?
Ã,Â
Ah, the FinePix S5600. :)
Nice work :)
They look nice well done.
Anyone else getting redxd?
Nice one Brummie.
That first one must have been a bus then
I am currently hooked on the idea of 10+ minutes pointing at a clear starry night.. but ever since I wanted to do that, whats it been? completely overcast for nearly half a week now, night and day.
:edit:
ok, so not too many stars out during the day, but I was trying to say its just been overcast constantly for what feels like forever!!!
I love that second picture, its fantastic.
Wished I had bought a camera with more manual functionality tbh, bloody Coolpix 4300 is a click and shooter :(

thx :)
they had stopped to turn right for the last part of my exposure but the naughty people forgot to indicate
cant you atleast select a manual shutter speed on yours?
TBH mine is an over glorified point and shoot :)
The Coolpix 4300 should have a manual exposure mode but its 3X zoom would definitely limit the Astronomy option. The exposure option is normally hidden away in the options.
had a play with a sony ds 10 something today.
you know the Ã,£700 one lol
very nice :D 10 mpixel. took a picture of a cliff. you can zoom right in on the blades of grass clinging on for dear life in the photo
