Replay: Referee confusion costs Wales video link

Now for non rugby people who may not know when time ends if the ball is in play and the ref things extra time or full time etc when the game should ends does NOT blow up like it football only when the ball is dead as in out of touch or when a penalty or the play stops does he blow the whistle.

In the dying moments of the game you can kick to touch take the line out and the ball is in play and push for a score before the ball is dead and full time

Now here Wales were 3 points down and could have kicked for 3 points or taken the line out and go for 5 or 7 points and win the game IF there was time.
So you ask the ref if there is time, in the video you can see he checks with the 4th official he is told there is he tells the wales players they can take a line out if they are quick, they kick and then he blows up more or less straight the way.

He listens to the 4th official and blows up, the rules actually state that the 4th official only informs the ref when all the time and extra time is played and it is the ref who says when the game is over.
He cocked up big style and cost Wales a chance to not loose (not how I did not say to win since they were playing badly and it was their fault they were in that mess anyway)

Tigers match on the weekend a linesmen gave a penatlity to the other team for a player touch the back of another to stop himself running into him.
He said he "making contact with a player out of play" which is not a rule and a load of rubbish since if he did not he would run into him clashing knocking both down, you run fast people move and get in the way you bump into each other - contact sport, happens every minute of the game.

Is it about time refs are accountable for stupid mistakes like this?
Not for missing a venality or things like that, but again int he tigers match the ref denied a try when people were certain they scored and even admitting he was unsure did NOT go to the video ref.

Those sorts of errors they should be assessed found to be in the wrong and pay for it in some way, For me in a few sports they are killing the games and making very bad mistakes at times and getting off scot free.

Football world cup that English ref came home and retired rather then facing the music but tbh nothing would have happened and he was more worried about trying to ref matches again with no respect from anyone, he would have a nightmare.
