Dunno if that's a lil dig at me and my yarrish ways but as per the last page I HAVE bought this (this can be confirmed by anyone on my PSN or facebook) I just begrudge and will not pay for it on multiple formats!  :)

I will always buy games that deserve it, but never on multiple formats, sod that.

OH and my TOP TIP, anyone who wants to get games early, ALWAYS pre-order through game, a good 90% of the time you get them the day before  ;D oh and make sure to get some trophies/achievments to time stamp this fact to annoy others even more

No that wasn't a dig at you at all Matt and I apologise if it came over that way. The roll eyes was for the fact I actually had to buy the game and that there were no scene releases of it. I think the last time I bought a game before this was Mass Effect 2. I kinda feel nice and warm inside for actually buying the game, but then I think I've just spent £40 on something that I could get for free if I just had a little more patience. But unfortunately patience is definitely not something that I have!

there is a p2p version of it out atm for PC, but I can't find it on usenet. Must be on torrents and sites like rapidshare, and I refuse to use either of them.

Who ever is doing a review could you make a quite nice one, think if it was on kotaku and you doing the review. We could use it for the new site.

... which is just as well because Steam's servers are down.

[update]

Ok, now in and Steam is forcing me to download 8Gb worth of game "updates" (i.e. the entire game)...  ::)

Anyone know how to make it install from disc or know where I can get a cracked exe?

Yerr, ya wankers @Steam.....  ::)

This is going on my Christmas list. I really want to play it but there are so many other games coming out in the next few weeks that this is not a must have for me.

I did 14 hours straight last night on Arma 2. I'm more ball-bagged now than a big bag o' ball-shaped things.

DEHR is even more addictive!  :worried:

Eye candy is well on par with Mass Effect but scenery is more 'animated' (flashy lights, fire, liquids etc).

Weird thing is; I'm running it full-res (1920x1200), maxxed out on all settings with a system built about six years ago: an Intel 2.4 Q6600 QuadCore - with no issues whatsoever...

I forgot to mention I compared PS3 / PC side by side, even at 1080p it doesn't look that much better, I was expecting it to blow it away tbh  :)

Weeeeeeelll, I got my new 6870 black edition this morning and used my voucher to download this from Steam, which took most of the afternoon.

I've just played a couple of hours worth and first things first the characters can be a bit DNF but overall the graphics are very good and with everything maxed it looks sweet and runs a dream @ 1920x1200.

I set the difficulty to medium, and it actually felt like hard mode to begin with, I died very quickly numerous times on the first groups of enemies - I find the stealth cover and other controls a bit clunky and its rather annoying that when you crouch you have to press the same key again to uncrouch - basically its just going to take me some getting used to as I'm not a 'stealth' person. It doesn't help being given a crap rifle with only 6 tranq. shots that don't seem to work very well. My first decision was to try and not hurt anyone and be stealthy which went out of the window straight away given these facts. It took too long and I was getting shot too much, so I'm progressing much faster just by shooting seven shades out of everyone now :yarr:

Overall I think I'm going to hop in and out of this one. The cutscenes, etc make it enjoyable but given the mission lengths it seems like you need to devote some time to really getting into it, but I find some of the objectives and instructions a bit vague, like rescuing hostages that I couldn't even find! But overall its good fun and I quickly killed a couple of hours without realising it, not that I've got very far ;D
