Tbh I might consider it when my X1 contract is up in 12 months time.

About the only reason Id stay on Winmo is the freedom to install/change things as I please, mostly for free. But tbh once I have the phone set up I tend to not use many features anyway, and would rather have a phone Im not afraid will snap at any second...

question : can you search exchange emails?

Why do smart phone manufacturers not consider this GLARING omission to be important?

Its the reason there is no real business alternative to blackberry.

Yes, Mac OS X Spotlight search is a key part of the 3.0 iphone software.  That will search everything including e-mail.

This will include e-mails that may have not been allready downloaded in a certain file and search exchange remotely.

The reason they leave out these features which arguablly, should have been there from the start, is that you can change the phone any time, without having to buy a new phone.    The whole original concept of the iphone was that if you had to bring a new feature out, you would have to put more keys onto the phone.  That isnt practical.

Its so easy to forget this is their first smartphone and they are doing and amazing job in a sensible steady manor.

id have thought someone of your quality would have found a new whinge about devices by now mate.

the iPhone isnt and never will be a corporate device, so its search function isnt a massive negative. and now it has one, so lets get over it.

WM6.1 does search, you just start typing in your email list.

Because only people living in 1987 dont use web based email.
Gmail - dont need to sync, best search, unlimited (basically) storage. Your contacts syncs with your phone on the G1.
The BB is a pile of crap and my ex-gf had the storm.

Although I notice RIMM posted better than expected Q2.

The iPhone here in the US is very expensive which is partly why I went with the G1. And Im very pleased I did - if you use a lot of googles services, it really is fantastic.

Balls.  Most actual techies i know run their own e-mail from something OTHER than gmail.  Personally I prefer to responsible for making sure my e-mail is backed up, rather than trusting Google not to wipe the servers and say "Sorry, T&Cs state that we arent responsible for data backup, go away".  Also any business that relies on something like Google mail as their main e-mail system needs to SERIOUSLY think about their IT Strategy.

Exchange + BES is pretty much essential for any company that requires its employees to have handset e-mail.  As long as its not a Storm, the Storm isnt really a Blackberry, its an abortion that needs killing with fire.

Saas wants to be the way forward and it should be, but most of our SMBs recoil in horror when we tell them £x/m per user. Big corps just arent that interested in putting business critical apps in the cloud, mostly.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.
