Prometheus Trailer
on: December 21, 2011, 00:42:12 AM
Prometheus Trailer is due Thursday but here is a preview:

It looks like many of us hoped to be linked around that big ass ship that was in Alien. I do hope so as I always wanted to know what the F was that all about.

I genuinely think this will be a return to form for Ridley Scott, he's not including anything in the film to do with aliens save for the fact that much of this is Giger inspired. I'll definitely be going to the cinema for this.

Well, IF I can find it on youtube there is an interview that this may have something at the end which will lead into his planned alien prequal.

This is crate run down as well - Pre alien face hugger, Space Jockey skull, ship, gun chair, pod chamber...

Pretty much looks like Alien prequel or pre story arch scenario to me.

The idea definitely has potential, now it depends on how good the script, acting and effects are. Sigourney Weaver ended up as a inevitable inclusion in the previous films so hopefully they can wean themselves off her.

TBH none of the Alien films was a total disaster, unlike some sequels, but some were definitely better than others. I still think the original was the best so far.

This wont be an Alien movie, you need to understand. They may come out of this movie in the sense this is the same universe and you may see one or start of one at the end of the movie BUT...
It is more about that alien ship then anything else in terms of its link, at least where it came from, about the race etc.

Not an 'alien' movie, but same universe and it looks like maybe the same formula with what appears to be a scenario of a crew member being changed into another alien of some species who will lurk and attack the others... It should be good, I'm trying to decide if it's set before or after alien. Guessing before as in alien the company knew about the ship on LV426 (though I think this is a different planet and ship...), but what is throwing me is the kit these guys have seems higher tech/later than alien would be?

This is all set before Alien, it's basically the story of how that ship ended up on LV426. I was wondering (worried really) about the whole tech aspect as it does initially look like they are running around much better equipped (which was bound to be a problem with having CGI and such now) but what we have to remember is the Nostromo was a mining ship - this ship exploring and finding the space craft might well be a scientific/military vessel and more likely to have advanced tech. I'm sure there will be a decent way of explaining it anyway, it's not the sort of thing Ridley would overlook.
