Samsung D600
on: March 28, 2006, 22:54:20 PM
I really like the look of this phone.

I dont need the gimmicky listen to MP3s on the toilet nonsense of the W800i and I dont care for the styling of it either.

However, I know from the number of people using it that the W800i is a well mannered, reliable phone, but no one really mentions the D600. Anyone have one and would care to share their opinion?

my mate has it.  Nowhere near as cool as the W800i IMO, the camera is rubbish in comparison and its thicker.  Also transflash is a pain.

W800i any day in my book.  D600 is way more style over substance, and its not even as stylish as the w800i :D

I do love conflicting reports.

Badabing, is it reliable?

When I spoke to the woman at O2 about what they were offering me (sweet F to the A) she was telling me I didnt really want it and it was rubbish, poor battery life, etc. but I think that was because they were only willing to offer me a ten year old Nokia.

WTF is transflash and should I care?

Sometimes a gadget does everything you need... loads of neat little features like a good quality camera, good quality sound on the line, excellent screen etc. Loads of tech mags raved about it such as T3 - so i got it on their recommendation and ive not regretted it...

I saw it was listed as the What Mobile winner. I cant see a reason not to get it really. I know for a fact I wont use half of the features of the W800i and it really does look tacky to me.

ahh... I bet they put a warning on that thing "do not give to young children, small parts" but actually more than likely to run out of space on the damn thing.

What the hell is the point in something so small?! Id lose it about 15 times an hour.

I cant tell you anything about the reliability and long term use as such but I think it is an excellent phone.  My brother has the D500 and the menu on that, which is pretty much the same is excellent.

Why would you be taking it out your phone anyway?

My phone runs on Mini SDs and Ive not lost it yet!

Its as I thought then, transflash is more gimmicky crap never to be used.

Thanks for the link max:

The phone makes use of the same voice clarity technology used in the D500. The phone automatically senses the volume of the background noise and will increase the volume and clarity of the incoming call to make it more audible.

Bang on, just what Ive been waiting for in a phone. I wub it already, Ill definitely be getting this.

not as good looks wise as the RAZR, but still works very well  8)

my D500 has been ace though tbh, not much bad about it at all  8)

If you dont want the gimmick of the w800i get a k750i. Its essentially the same phone, just without the walkman. I find the UI on Samsung mobiles a bit too simplistic and the cameras not particularly crisp (especially in comparison with the SE cams)
