Supreme Commander
on: May 15, 2006, 16:36:01 PM
Well Ive had my eye on this game ever since the first concept art was released.  For those who missed the original thread in the old forums, this is the follow up to Total Annihilation.

Since we have some more news, screenshots and most importantly a functional website, I thought it was time for a new thread/update.

http://www.supremecommander.com/

The game features 3 main factions, Aeon, Cybran & UEF.  One of the major differances is with scale, big stompy mechs, really are big stompy mechs and have a presence and major advantage on the field.

I really do like the retro look the game has with the modern detailing, IE the water, explosions etc.   Its is looking quite exciting.

A spiritual succesor to the greatest RTS game ever? Oh yes. 8)

Its a real shame cavedog died just as they were getting their online gaming network set up for TA, it wouldve been just as popular online as Starcraft/battle.net is (like the tournaments they hold in South Korea).

Oh and has anyone ever played TA:Spring? 8)

Ive not gotten round to buying Empires at War yet actually, was thinking more of a scene from Episode one where the trade federation droids are being deployed. Still, very cool. :) 8)

waiting for this so much so ive put it on pre-order alread

empire at ware was a little underwhelming once youd played through it once and gotten over the "woo dead star destroyer :D" etc,
skirmishes are fun but doesnt seem to have the addicition i got from TA skirmishes or even C&C red alert

originally i thought there was talk of supreme commander not having a resource system in it and being purely conflict.... i would have been gutted.
thankfully it sounds like the classic TA energy and metal rule once more

invinvicible defence here i come

I always spent the first few hours on a large skirmish just playing invinvible defense and also making everything look pretty.... unlike the AIs lets place things anywhere!

Indeed, same here, everything nicely placed.  :-)

Even number of defensive turrets, sit back and enjoy the fireworks as the enemy send wave after wave.
