I have used the acp_commander, it tells me that port 23 is opened and the root password is reset, but when I run telent to connect to the IP all i get is "Could not connect to the host, on port 23: connection failed.

I have been through google dont know how many times and still no luck.  Any help would be great!!

1st things 1st, make sure youre using putty.
Reset the linkstation using the interface and run acp_commander again, making sure you are elevated.

Putty just makes things easier :D

Ok, got putty,

what you mean reset ?  Factory default or just a reboot via the web console?  And by elevated I assume you mean logged in as admin.

Sorry, forgot about this thread.

Using the web console, hit the factory reset.  You wont lose data but it will reset the root password.

If you are using StevieWonder, this is a required step.

WHats StevieWonder?

Think I may have bricked my unit.  Tried a firmware down grade I got on another forum, but I cant access the drive.  No flashing red lights, still getting the blue light, but when I do a factory reset the device cant be found on the network.  C**k!

Blue Light?  Mine are green!

Whats the model number of your Linkstation, as they dont have Telnet out the box.

Ah, fair enough.  Mines a V2.

It shouldnt be too bad if youve bricked it.  It should respond to TFTP.

So the drive is full?

That might make it problematic.
Is it backed up anywhere? As I have a guaranteed way to get it into EM mode, but it will cost your data.
