Im with Binary shadow on this one, for what he wants a 4WD running gear, would not only be different, but would be better, I think than a FWD car atleast.

thing with 4 wheel drive is (I guess) you can keep the power on around the corners.. or at least more power !

fwd you slow into the corners and accelerate out with the front wheels pulling you round/out
rwd you accelerate into them then opwer off to transfer the weight to the front and keep it down

4x4 you accelerate into the corner, around it, then out again ;)

go rear wheel drive, and if you looking at making something like the aerial atom... use downforce to keep your car gripping at the corners :D

Saw a car with a stupidly sized spoiler last week, boot mounted it almost totally blocked the interior rear view mirror... :!:

if you fancy seeing how much fun it can be playing in a featherlite rear wheel sports car... go to any kit car show round the UK and youll find someone demoing an orange car called a Dax Rush, pay the £3 or whatever it is and take a ride (someone else will be driving ofc) ;):

0-60 just under 4 seconds
gokart handling
utter utter madness

worryingly its the exact same car as the others in this thread (Lotus 7 replicas) only they dropped the usual sierra engine and replaced it with a sierra cosworth engine.  Suddenly rear wheel drive makes sense hehe. :)
