"The cost of living is going up and Labour is making it worse," added Mr Cameron.

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said Mr Darling could have helped "the millions of hard pressed families who are feeling the pinch".

But instead he had delivered a "meagre tinkering budget which gives precious little help to the poor but maintains special treatment to the rich".

There were no further U-turns on capital gains tax or non-domiciled residents in Mr Darlings Budget statement.

Erm you checked the amount of tax you pay over there?

Also take a look at the average wage........

Im sure its a nice place & everything but the economy is hardly something to brag about. Try harder next time - pointing out the beaches/nice views etc.. would do - this thread just fails massively.....

Less then we were paying In Leicester which was going up and the fact here you got things like proper recycling, water fountains and benches everywhere you go, clean streets etc...
No tv licence, less gass usage, fuel for the cars is less, bear is cheaper...can go on.

The small pop at me is rather funny, the post is aimed at the fact that even if I was in the Uk I would still make the post and suggest we all bail out becuase it is getting stupid, with council tax rises and everything else on top and discussed in here when you take into account the other discussed threads and it could be anywhere you move to and in fact a lot of people are and a fair amount on these forums are/have or plan to already.
I never mentioned beaches and views in this thread either
But if you want to be an arse go ahead does not bother me, I just think your a sad little boy and laugh.

Interesting choice
Thing is though who here if they had the money the chance would move abroad? Think it would be quite high
I mean here you do not get arrested and jailed for defending yourself as an example of how stupid the UK has got

this country is f**ked.. all the skilled workers leave & are replaced by sub standard replacements

Its easy to say 3m left & 4m came to live in the uk, but I bet that 3m people took more in skills & generated wealth with them, than anything
the 4m coming in to replace them ever will.

UK loses a Nurse & is replaced with a cleaner.

Erm not being an arse just disagreeing with you - youve started a post basically come over here (NZ) based upon the UK budget while being apparently clueless about the situation in NZ....

If you think someone is an arse and start chucking insults around simply because someone disagrees with you then youre the one who needs to grow up. If you didnt post such complete bollocks in the first place then people wouldnt pull you up on it anyway... for example:

Quote

complete rubbish...... do you actually have a job over there yet? Looked at your pay slip? Take a closer look at it as they use PAYE over there too.

If youre a low earner youre extra screwed they dont even have a tax free ammount

NZ tax rates 2007-2008
$0 - $38,000    19.5%
$38,001 - $60,000    33%
Over $60,000    39%

UK Tax rates 2007 - 2008
£0 - £5225             0%
£5225 - £7,455    10%
£7455 - £34,600  22%
over £34,600        40%

someone earning a modest wage say GBP40K would be paying about 21% in income tax in the UK vs 30% in NZ

someone earning GBP15K (above the NZ average wage btw....)would be paying 12% in tax in the UK vs 19.5% in NZ

basically about 50% more in tax (fairly significant tbh...)

Average wage in NZ is 667 NZD a week = just under GBP 14K a year
Average wage in the UK is 457 GBP a week = just under GBP 24K

So not only do you pay a significantly higher amount in income tax you also earn significantly less.

Yes Im well aware that the cost of living is lower too but stick to views and beaches tbh..... because youre certainly not financially better off.

I must admit I was under the impression that the UK is still one of the better places for high income and relatively low tax.  It makes huge amounts of sense to move if you can keep earning a UK wage and live remotely of course.

NZ has worse income tax and a significantly lower wage (50%?).  The cost of living is lower but it isnt going to be half...  Youd get a bigger house in NZ since the UK has scaled out of whack but you should on average be poorer in NZ.

That we the uk is being raped in tax?
Which is not one of the best, one of the worst hence the always well used term - "rip off Britain" hence the post so you do not agree with that then? Want more taxation to death then? so your happy with the budget then?

You got the general sensus here in the thread I missed:
http://www.tekforums.co.uk/posts/list/11730.page
Saying its bad, and all I said was
"go anywhere, here or anywhere" as a term leading - bloody Britain again
Taking into account tax, income, cost of living, living lifestyle, crime etc in terms of the location you live and as with lots of other threads on this forum while the UK is home and is queen it sucks ass bad as well which is forever repeated in posts by people on this forum.
Yet some decide to make a stab at someone else or their situation again, rather daft.

Can you try to at least post a coherent reply please. If you talk the way you post on here then Id be a bit worried. As it is Ive got no idea about what youre trying to say now other than the fact youre waffling on about something to do with the budget and rip off Britain.

People in Britain are very well off compared to others in the world. Even compared to the states, my friends in the UK had more, very few people here own a house for example.

And Nexus, Dave is right, you only posted this thread to say, look at me, Im so lucky I live in middle earth. Its swings and round abouts - half of NZ come to London because theyre sick of the nearest pub being 20 minutes drive away.

People from the UK are very lucky - we have the chance to earn out money and then retire somewhere cheaper. Imagine if you were already from NZ - you cant take your UK money / house sale and disappear there and live off it because you dont have anything to start with.
