Hi all, so Im currently in the middle of pricing up a new computer.

My motherboard:

My processor:

RAM:

Well, theyre ideas anyway.

Im not heavily into PC Gaming but I like to play the occasional FPS with friends. I need something that is powerful enough to run two monitors at 1280x1024 mainly.

Any ideas? I found this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/133275  which looks good.

Cheers :)

(Oh, also if you think I could get a better MOBO/CPU/RAM setup for the same price as those, please make suggestions! Im really out of touch with it when it comes to computer bits.)

A faster dual core may be better than that quad, depending on your needs. Have a google.

QuoteThe Core 2 Quad Q6600 is yet another impressive Intel processor and the first to be launched in 2007. Nevertheless, quad-core technology is still ahead of its time, and it will take some time before this technology delivers the kind of performance-per-watt that the Core 2 Duo does. There were a few programs that favored the quad-core processors notably, though for the most part similarly clocked Core 2 Duo processors can deliver the same performance.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Kris should be able to tell you what brand it actually is.

Its an Xpertvision, still have 2 year warranty and are just basic generic cards. good value for what they are.

Yep, downgrade to a faster double core and spend any extra you save on the graphics card.

Thanks on the input everyone :)

Settled on keeping the quad core but going with an ASUS mobo with an ASUS 6800GT gfx card.

Arrives tomorrow!

NOOOOO, the 6800 was a great card in its day, but its somewhat long in the tooth now.  Dont buy it, unless its only costing you about £40!

Oops! My mistake, I meant the 8600 :) haha
