GTR episode was as good as I expected, was a bit surprised that they didnt think that much to it.

JC said it was limited to 112 miles per hour by Japanese law, so they couldnt do much tbh.

Goblin

I suspect once it gets on the track later in the season it will show its true colours. If you look at the other epic race episodes it has been GT cars for the most part - DB9, 612, McLaren Merc and Veyron, cars designed for what they were doing. The GTR is a lot more hardcore so a motorway drive isnt going to give you an impression of what it can do. Looked like fun on the mountain road at the end though :)
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Walrusbonzo

I love the show, the GTR looked awesome, cant wait to see it round the track.

Would the GTR be the fastest Japanese production car ever?  I dont recall a Japanese car company making a car capable of over 190mph before.

Will watch tonights episode in the morning :)

It was the episode filmed by my house with my local hunt!

Ive been a little underwelmed so far, i havent found the same epicness or amusement in any of the episodes so far. Fingers crossed for the future.

Other than the GTR cameo last night the episode was lame, and tbh I am getting sick of the fake beeps of annoyance soundtrack they use whenever a features in a built up area and something hilarious happens.

Goblin

I really like last nights episode, had a nice mix of things, the GTR was awesome, it was funny watching the old luxury cars and the fox hunt impressed me that the car didnt just snap in half.

Traditionally I think the odd numbered series arent as good as the even ones, must be some kind of Star Trek curse.

Ive been feeling the same. I think its become too formulaic and predictable.

They have been slated for spending to much and their budget cut down apperently so its going to show and they will see the complaints and figures and either can it or give them back their money

Poison_UK

I would say every person who watches top gear is more than happy to be paying a tv licence for the quality of the previous series.

Give them the budget they deserve!

beleive it or not this sundays episode is the last of the current series, which is crap imo.

Not that its been that good this time, but Id still like to see more than 6 of them.

It needs a kick up the arse and they need to get fingers back on the pulse quickly. To echo the comments above, regardless of how good this final episode is this series has been somewhat underwhelming to say the least.

If I worked for the BBC, which unfortunately for them I dont :P I would be getting heads together to think of where to take it next, firstly they need a format change, 6 shows on the spin isnt working, the car industry is moving too quickly and the current filming window for news and relevant features is far too small to provide any kind of indepth insight as to whats currently out there, or, to present an article or piece thats relevant to current times or whats on the horizon. The show currently is reporting on things that anyone with a casual interest in cars has already at least heard of, or have read about in depth on the internet for example.

If the current presenters cant get on board for a little and often approach (filming two sets of three, or three sets of two in the year) sack them off for someone who can, 6 shows in a row that runs out of steam and ideas or a punchy fresh couple 3 times a year? I know which one I would plump for.

Top Gear isnt solely an entertainment show, part of the entertainment is to find out exclusives and feautures on things that are brand brand new, which unfortunately they seem to be doing less and less of.
