Im thinking young Ben survives, otherwise Sayid has just created a whopping new temporal paradox. Or maybe not? Time, after all, is a fickle companion of fate...

Mostly a boring ep. Some interesting dialogue between Hurley and Miles on the nature of temporal causality.

He should have just shown hurley a piece of string and said one end is him when he was born, the other end is him now, and then folded it over, or cut the now end, to show how it doesnt effect the start/beginning.


Who reckons that at some point youll see the face of that giant statue and itll be Richard Albrecht?

Were is Dr Sam Beckett and Al to explain the Quantum Leap String theroy?!!

Its Paradox city.  I thought at the end when Ben was coming to he was getting this "flash of new memorys" or something.  All os a sudden remembering Saiid popping a cap in his skinny bespeckled white ass!!

That or seeing the person he killed standing over him with a smile on his face would be pretty freaky...

The way i look at it is the island allows the (year 1977 whatever year it was) into the present. It doesnt matter what they do the end result will be the same (string theory) the strings will come together..... like a couple of blank pages in a middle of completed book you can write what you want the end will stay the same.

Maybe Ben doesnt remember who shot him? richard said he wouldnt be the same.

Awesome ep. this week. Ben is judged by the smoke monster (much like Eko was) and is found... wanting. Locke seems to have been chosen somehow as the islands new protector/emissary?

Why would locke be chosen, when they already have Albrecht? Who needs 2 emissaries when Albrecht seems to be able to go anywhere he wants when he wants :|

Logic to me is either aliens or spiritual . I mean, what with dead people coming back and time travel, theres very little else that could explain it!

Maybe itll turn out to be some kind of mayan outpost, and the diff mishaps are responsible for the 4 apocalypses they recorded, and the 5th and final one to come is what the people on the island are building to or going to prevent?

Interesting. We do have strong evidence now for the Smoke Monster, Frozen Donkey Wheel, and the statue all being Mayan in origin. You could be right.

the statue was holding Anks and looked like the back of Anubis, in the temple there was glyph of Anubis so an Egypt mythos in the mix too

I once saw a late night thing on sky one about lost...

they ran through half an episode and had one of the producers (or someone like that) doing a voice over talking about all the things in the background etc.. and how everything ties in together....

it was FREAKY how much thought theyve put into it... it took the guy an hour to talk about half an episode... he was talking pretty fast and didnt blab on much... there was just so much to talk about they couldnt do a full ep. in an hour
