Battery draining

Ok, so on an old car you:

1) Put a multimeter set to milliamps on the battery (r-to-r, b-to-b).
2) If its drawing a bit of current pull fuses one at a time til the current drops off.

Right?
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

i should know this really being an electrician but i think an ammeter needs to be connected in series with the + of the battery to read the current going through.

yes in series.... youll blow it up if you put it accross the terminals :o

to measure amps you go in series

to measure volts you go in parallel
