I get 96/100 on Namoroka the blue square is grey everything else is ok.

for me...

firefox - 92/100

ie8 (32+64bit) - 20/100

but at the same time.... Ive never been ablt to notice any difference between any of them when Im browsing the web...

Well I found the URL. http://acid3.acidtests.org/

It got 100/100 in chrome.

93 in firefox.

And IE had a hissy fit and threw out several errors. at about 10%

I tried the new Opera 10.5 Beta and it works as it supposed to be. All other browsers fail in my view. Streaming works amazing and smooth and integrates into Windows 7 nicely too. So far, no freezing or crashes.

is this a proper test, or is it a fanboy developed one that only works in their favorite browser by exploiting some peculiarity of that browser engine ?

They are created by the Web Standards Project and on release the acid tests are written in a way so that all browsers fail, so they are not created to make one browser look better than the rest.

I think from a fairness point of view, it would be best served to have a test that wasnt contributed to by staff from opera and firefox.
