my mothers/sisters want to get some voip phones....

anyone have any recommendations ?

last time I looked they were nearly all usb to run with Skype etc... but now from what I see most of them look to work independently of a computer ?

all 3 have wireless.... so that could work well if any of them use them ?

internet guilds/reviews arent telling me much... so I thought Id check for some first hand experience ;)

Make sure you get whatever Mark recommends that is 3x more expensive and not end-user servicable   -)

I was waiting for that.. and I imagine more than 3x more expensive, and will require some form of SIP server :)

Sam

But they will be amazing for email (if you happen to use 1990s software such as Outlook).

Mark

does skype use any sort of SIP or STUN ?

The older generation cisco wireless IP phones can be had for 30-40 quid on ebay.

They even have exchange 2010 now! Dont use any email clients myself. Except very rarely the web interface to my mail server

Webcams, can get good ones for £20-odd and Amazon and get visual as well as audio if you;re using Skype, also handsfree..
