I remember the reaction the Wii controller got on here years ago tbh, to be fair Nintendo will have 100's of people working on the logistics and over the years they have got most things right on that front IMO.

But saying that I do think we are going to see a big upturn in the popularity of PC gaming over the next few years, the social and online capabilities which have proved to be really popular with this generation of consoles I really don't see how they can go much further under the confines of a console and controller with it, for about the same money as a top end console you can get a really decent gaming PC, unlike 10 years ago it won't be out of date and slow 3 weeks of first firing it up! PC has much better social integration: MSN, Vent, Skype and online forums to help build communities. People do enjoy playing together which ever medium that offers the best is going to win and a keyboard and mouse can't be beat on that front tbh. 

I started playing WoW again recently and I couldn't believe the integration of general PC use that has taken part since I was last played seriously in a guild a few years ago, the guild I'm in now has its own FB page, youtube channel as well as Vent and forum, years ago the vent and forum would cost somebody a decent amount of money to run, now it s next to free.

Erm.. I recall the general reaction of "OMG" and "WOW" as a whole and Nintendo Shares going up and people pondering how well it will all work but the positive media hype about it leading to launch causing lots of the average joe non gamers and light gamers going to by it on mass and stocks being very short for a good amount of time.
This so far has had the exact opposite.

Heck yes, one thing that has come out recently is that PC gaming is starting to come back again.
Witcher 2 is apparently very good.

Personally I'm not a fan of PC gaming anymore, but let me expand on that...

.. I have PS3 and XBox, I also have a laptop and an iPad, now the issue I have with PC gaming is location, each of these devices are in front of me most of the time that I am sat at home, XBox and PS3 connected to the TV and Laptop and iPad on my lap (depending on what I'm doing).

The thing that puts me off PC gaming is that I don't like sitting in a corner or in the other room on a computer, and is a little less social if I'm with my mates, I have considered setting up my cedia centre as a gaming PC, but I expect it would be a bit rubbish due to mouse and keyboard placement.

Also in terms of price, I don't think you could setup a good gaming rig for the cost of a console, maybe at launch price, but current prices I think not? Also over the many years I have had the consoles I hevent had to re-format, re-install or upgrade them.

The graphics on a PC would be much better, but I don't think the actual gameplay or enjoyment of the game is much different.

The other thing is take up of laptops, I haven't had a proper PC at a desk for a lot of years, and loads of people are the same, now laptops are cheap a lot of households have got rid of their PC, obviously hard core gamers will still have their rigs and a load of other demographics, but there is a definite shift.

However there are a couple of things that still attract me -

- The mouse and keyboard (of course!) it is much better and it's already been proved they are much better than a controller back in the dreamcast cross platform days
- Mods: Quake 1/2/3 multiplayer was quite good fun, but not as fun as the various mods that you could use on top!
- Price - Games are a lot less money, and if you are naughty then free!

I think for me personally times have changed, I don't have as much time as I'd like to play games, I don't have a desk in my house anymore, and I get pretty much everything I want on the console, I think if I went back now I'd get thrashed on a keyboard and mouse.. All in all, I'm getting old!

Sorry just realised how much I ranted and how off topic this has got! - Wii U... I think that it's trying to get in to a market that already has 2 consoles and where their focus should be on budget family fun! I think it's a bad move for Nintendo, and the shareholders seem to agree!

Online is always Last on the agenda for Nintendo, but it will ship with one, It would be luny tunes time if they did not. I am sure it already has built in wifi as for the controller it must be using that for sending data over rather then bluetooth?
All controllers on demo were usb wired, I am interested to see how real world the console can handle the data streams and handle them well, and say if you went bed and left the console on how well it would work etc.
That has to be so tight and performing well.

Wouldn't be surpsied if they didn't include ethernet and just internal wirelessN
