Just finished watching the first series and I have got to say this is the most impressive TV show I have seen in a long time.

An Intelligent story which feels no need to spoon feed you the plot and for me a couple of genuine "I didn't see that coming!" moments, the story, the cast, the scale of the thing is top notch and well worth a look if you haven't watched it.

My only complaint is that I have to wait so long for more!

I'm eagerly anticipating the finale on Sky Atlantic tonight. Pretty much echo your sentiments. There have been some unseen plot twists, some of which were a bit obvious with hindsight, but the way the story is told you don't see them coming. Some of the pivotal scenes in the series have been pretty epic too.

My only complaint so far is that my GF decided to start talking to me in the last 10 mins of the penultimate episode...5 seconds before the end of the ep (you know when) I get "You'll fry your gonads!" as I had the laptop on my lap... ><

I thought it was really well made and condsidering the short length of the series and the extreme length of the books they did a good job however because I've read the books and loved there is too much they miss and it annoys me to the point of taking enjoyment from watching

Though it would of been awesome to watch first and then read after to fill in some of the blanks and expand on an already great story

I can't remember a series where I've been so excited to see the next episodes since the first series of Heroes. It's just a shame it's going to be such a long wait for S2!

I've missed the last couple of episodes which is a shame but it was most enjoyable while i was watching it.

People saying about waiting for season 2...how long?

I've been watching it too, very good series, not what I'd expect from a fantasy series ie not that much fighting (so far)  Which from the TV series point of view works quite well, because they can spend more of the budget on other things rather than what would probably be big CGI fights, and I think it shows when you look at the sets etc.

Started reading the first book a few weeks ago, Asda had it for £3.50 which was a right bargain, and am nearly through it, want to start the 2nd book but I have too many other things I need to read, that pile of magazines isn't getting any smaller!

Hopefully we'll get to see lots more of Tyrion 'king-bitch-slapping' Joffrey next season, as he's been nominated as the King's Hand.

Finally watched the last ep yesterday evening. I was a *tad* disappointed that there wasn't really much of an ending. I appreciate that there's a lot of ground to cover, but would have been good for the stark/lanister conflict to have some kind of semi-end, instead of being left wide open at the start of what I guess will be a long conflict...

Another 4 seasons i hope , unless the writers or audience gets bored in season 2 and it goes downhill and gets cancelled. I hope not!
