Any Vappers on the forum ?
Stopped smoking(cigars) after 30+ years  on Jan 1st 2015 & started vaping.Nearly 9 months without a stinkie , vaping is part for health & part hobby.
Yes sure vaping is not 100% safe but what is ?
Being asthmatic seemed as though a good idea to try to stop & vaping was just going to be a crutch to help me stop but developed into a real hobby.

I've tried the cheap ones but they're naff, can you recommend a good one?

I was looking at the Innokin ones - I'm fed up of stinking and of having to take time out to have a sneaky ciggie or planning days out and worrying about not wanting to smoke in front of my nippers.

my mate tried some & one broke in his mouth, he had to go for all sort of medical checkups & toxicology reports - as well as the broken vapor sent off for analysis.
Basically, they dont know what exactly is in some of them.

Many good starter kits , style/money can be a big part in buying .

Not actually sure what he was doing with the thing in his mouth , normally just the drip tip , a hollow plastic or stainless steel tube which the vapour comes up  in  to your mouth.
True some e-liquids are very dodgy but normally the very cheap stuff.
A lot of premium liquids  do test their flavours for substances classed as risky.
E-liquid is basically vegetable glycerin (found in many food stuffs) , monopropylene glycol ( found in many things including asthma inhalers), nicotine & flavourings.
Flavourings are usually from cooking flavours , true heating them all up & vaping them is still not fully tested but ingesting them should be no big problem.
If he cut himself some how & the liquids got into his blood stream well that is more serious but a small air bubble will kill you quicker.
I use .3mg nicotine or 0 nicotine , i will probably get more nicotine if i stand next to a smoker @ the bus stop.

Easily concealed in your hand , pretty good battery life , good e-juice capacity.
If you do start vaping DO NOT charge batteries with phone chargers , they charge @ a higher rate & will
damage the battery & can be dangerous.

Gf quit smoking and vapes now, but a lot less than she would smoking obviously. It seems to be a lot better for her, is cheaper and doesn't stink.

I have the occasional toke on it too and it seems alright. I like the fact that you can crank up the nicotine levels on hers for a bit of a buzz then put it back down again. Couldn't ever see myself getting addicted to it though, it doesn't have the same feel/sensation as actual smoking.

The thing is it's like quitting smoking, it's not the same but it's better than going cold turkey, you pretty much still need to make the decision to "quit" mentally.. I basically quit and used the vape when I had an urge to smoke.. Then gave up the vape which was easier

Basically Ohms is the resistance of the coils used for generating the vapour .
, for a given voltage a lower Ohms coil will generate more heating & so more vapour.
A 2.0 Ohms coil @ 4.2v will produce about 9 watts of heating energy , 2.0 Ohms coil  is roughly what a starter or low power device will have.
A .5 Ohms coil @ 4.2v will produce about 35 watts of heating energy so more vapour will be produced if air flow & the device can wick the e-liquid fast enough.
