Looking for around a 1.4 Diesel it must be Turbo tho!

Any ideas on what I could get in the range of Ã,£600-Ã,£900...

Was thinking of a Corsa or something, just need a run around Diesel Turbo with as low insurance as possible. So anything British or knowen to be low on the Insurance Groups :)

Im 20 nearly 21 with 2 years ncb and pass plus :)

kinkybiatch

there are some group one corsas thats diesel and they are quite cheap.

i was looking and on tesco car insurance they quoted me Ã,£653.53 and that was fully comp, and am only a learner.

Poison_UK

I bet that is with someone else as the main driver tho, like your mum or your dad.

Im on my own, tho as much as Im saying I want a diesel Ive just found a nice nick Pug 106 Rallye S1 and insurance is only Ã,£550 FC for me :)

I really wish my Dad would go on my insurance, because im going to be away at Uni for 3 years with no car and im going to be wondering when do I loose my NCB :s

Did Vaux make a 1.4 Diesel?

Astra 1.7TD ~ Ã,£500+
AX 1.5D ~ Ã,£300+
106 1.4 XRD ~ Ã,£600+

I think for that kinda money you can have 1.4l or TD, I cant see any SB Diesel turbos. For that money Id look at petrols too, I wouldnt want a dcar that old and I doubt youd save much over a 1.1/1.2l unless youre doing squillions of miles.

fwiw I drove a Corsa 1.7 Diesel a few times and it was a bloody horrible little car.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Nope, 1.3 and 1.5 exists though

Poison_UK

Just straight Diesels or TD?

Edd

1.3 is cdti and 1.5 is td

DEViANCE

why so small engines?

i would be looking at:
Citroen AX, Pug106, Rover Metro/R100 they all use the same 1.4 and 1.5 diesel engines and there are a few turbod ones although most are nasp.

I have only ever driven the engine in a Rover 115 and even at 56bhp theyre not too bad.

you can get some bigger td for not much money, i think some pug 306 diesels are
 IG4 and around 75-80ish bhp.

my choice would be the 85bhp un-intercooled Rover 220 @ IG5 or the 105bhp sdi @ IG7.

if you are buying and old diesel, esspecially a turbo, make sure you check it over well though, look for blue smoke or excess black smoke.

Mark

Always go for the french diesels of that era. There is nothing better.

The 306 TD and the regular TD XUDs are 92bhp. The HDis 90 or 110

yeah i just quoted the lowest IG one.

the french diesels of that age are great my mum used to have a 306 d turbo and it was way ahead of the times, only just managed over 40mpg which was dissapointing though.

If you are going to be paying that little for a car isnt it worth thinking about Third Party only, or TPF&T?

Poison_UK

Would only want Third Party on the Diesel
