If I recieve anything in Times New Roman I think it looks shoddy, simply because it used to be the default font that everyone used.

The only people who should be using fixed pitch are programmers and accountants, for books, letters and the like TNR is the better option.

I didnt know there was a law about who should use which fonts. I mustnt have recieved that memo.  

I heard that Courier new is better because it makes things seem a faster read because its bigger.

It looks ok printed out but not as black as TNR does, and you get a lot less words on the page with CN..
