Anyone seen the first two eps of this?  Keep on hearing good things about it; although when I saw the trailers it looked a bit crap.  Well the special effects looked a bit second rate; like Doctor Who which I am not particularly a fan of.   I think its by the team who done Doctor Who.

I thought the new Robin Hood series would be good too, although that is utter crap; Essex girl Maid Marion .... come on!!

If you have watched anything of Torchwood tell me what you think as I am tempted by it ... given what I have heard.

If you liked the recent Doctor Whos series then you will like Torchwood.

Ive watched and recorded the first two episodes.
The first episode gets a bit slow half way, as they are introducing the characters and a little background. Otherwise both episodes are absolutely great.

Quixoticish

I saw Robin Hood carrying a recurve on the advert so decided to give it a miss, from what I gather it was a sound decision to make as I hear its particuarly poor.

Regarding Torchwood; again Ive given this a miss because I didnt find the second series of Doctor Who very good at all, I thought the scripts were poor compared to the first series.

I was in fits of giggles watching the double-bill of Torchwood last night on BBC3 - and not in a pee-taking way, I think it was supposed to be amusing in those bits - I was thoroughly entertained the whole way through - an allien that feeds on human orgasms, because we are the best!!! Hah!

And the bbc has shoved so much money in it its insane, I heard its costi them 15million odd.
When was the last time the bbc had a decent ewish movie on, lol God its got to be more then a year now exluding xmas and holiday stuff and even then it was crap.

They have spent so much money On holding on to the snooker and football hilights and silly things like Robin Hood they dont spend it on anything decent and their good shows are the ones that lack investment, lol.

There was plenty of funny quips to go around although a couple were groaners.

Scripts were good enough, interesting and reasonably paced. The two women having a good snog was something that you would never have seen in Doctor Who, ditto with the sex scene. TBH the plot of the second episode would probably never have been shown as too raunchy. One of the caracters is bisexual and uses a pheremone spray to pick up a woman, in the first episode when her bloke tries to interveine the character uses it oh him too.

As he says while watching the bloke go poof during orgasm, you come and then you go.

Humans spend more time love making than animals so we are the best on this planet for a start :P

Captain Jack Harkness does seem far too familiar though, his survival from being shot makes him very much like Captain Scarlet.

Well if it helps anyone, I remember John Barrowman from Going Live! on saturday mornings back in the early 90s... he answered telephones for some bizarre little game show, around the time that Trev & Simon were still using the catchphrase "We dont do duvets!"... Ahh, memories...

Just caught the first two episodes of Torchwood since it was recommended on here and I must say I really enjoyed it. Its a completely seperate show to Dr. Who and Ill certainly be watching it in future.

Sam

I watched 10 minutes of torchwood and youll love it if youve never watched TV before.

No it has a budget of about ten quid.

Serious

Come on Sam, most actors wont even get out of bed for a few hundred...

Then they have to pay the staff. And dont forget its the BEEB too.

Might *LOOK* as if the budget is Ã,£10 but you can bet your life the reality is a lot more.
