Hello,

Ive just bought a Leadtek A7600GT AGP GFX card which i cannot get to display in my Abit NF7-S motherboard.  When i install the card and turn the machine on the bios gives one beep and starts to load windows although i do not get any display on my monitor.  Ive tried the card in a ECS board and it posts and displays perfectly.  I then tried the card in my Pentoum 4 system which has an Abit pentium 4 motherboard and i had the same problem as i did with the nf7-s.

Im in real need of some help here as i do not wish to upgrade my motherboard and cpu at the moment and would really like to get this card to working with my current system.

Please help.

Squonk.

Have you connected the power cable to it? (Assuming it needs one).

I spent about an hour troubleshooting a system Id built until I noticed I hadnt connected the power cable to the gfx card.  :whoops:

yes i have coonected the internal molex power cable, but i do not get any display, the bios beeps once but nothing on screen.

Did you uninstall any previous graphics card and set windows to its default driver? Usually its OK but Ive had problems a couple of times doing that.

Secondly the card may not be compatible with the NF7S MoBo, should be very unlikely but it does happen on occasions.

Yes i have uninstalled all previous drivers, but i do not get any post information, let alone windows screens.

is there also an onboard GFX card?  perhaps one that is nicking the output before it gets to your AGP slot?

squonk

No, the board doesnt have onboard GFX.

I cant work this one out!

Yes the fan is spinning and ive just upgraded my power supply to 580w.

Im beginning to think that Leadtek are not compatible with ABit motherboards.

When i plug the card into a ECS board it displays lovely.

shouldnt be an issue.

hmm, one thought though.  Are you using the same cables?  Can you test with other ones on your board as well?

If you are using different Monitors with integral cables, or thos ebloody crap converters they always throw in you may have problems.

If you have a spare drive try swapping and installing a fresh windows set-up onto it. That will get rid of any potential driver problems. If it doesnt then its more likely a compatibility issue and it would be worth asking Leadtek.

I have tried different cables  and still get the same no display from POST, although the bios beeps once and starts to load windows.

I dont know what else to try.

Its a long shot but has anybody else had any issuew ith Leaktek cards and ABit boards?

You are sure its seating properly? Might be going in and then springing back out over time :/

Actually thats probably grasping at straws.

You might be better off talking to the makers
