Send them all these tests and they have gone quite now after showing them I basically have a limit placed on me.
Will ring up Tuesday, just getting over my operation this morning today

The best around where I live is 10 meg up and 10 meg down on fiberoptics or ADSL  2 up and 24 down.

Fiberoptics are cool 10 meg up is good and 10 down enough.

tis behind a proxy though and ive not idea what its upto atm, could be downloading or uploading 10MB e-mails as i type  

Well i did speed tests for pipex data all yesterday, rang this morning, they agree there is ether a fault or bt have limited my download
And more like an error as the actual connection is fine and the upload is fine.

pop your exchange in here and let us know what the VP status is,
red = congested exchange and the fibre optic backbone is over subscribed.

Mines Red Will the try and fix this problem then, or do people in Sunny Whitby just have to accept it?

more hardware. All that red symbol is saying that there is high contention in your area. There is in mine too..but I have 4.5mbit speeds pretty much all day.
